When saying thank you isn't enough

Good thing the American Civil Liberties Union is getting its money's worth in attention from defending Karen and Alex Arshinkoff's right to have their big-as-a-barn Bush-Cheney yard sign. This is against community standards because the sign is not sufficiently Hudsonish. In other words, it is not Western Reserve tasteful. Attorney Jeffrey Gamso, legal director for the ACLU of Ohio, appeared with property owner Karen Arshinkoff in Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court and a Nov. 24 trial date was set. When reporters asked Alex Arshinkoff, Summit County Republican Party chairman, if he would be donating to the ACLU as a result of its defense of his family's free-speech rights, Arshinkoff thanked the ACLU but made no commitment of support the organization that is an anathema to Mr. Conservative. Maybe the chairman could at least commend the ACLU to his Republican cronies for the post-election legal fights that loom in Ohio.
