Hot to trot to the polls

Nonpartisan Votergasm.org has been denounced by Rush Limbaugh, set straight by blogger babe Wonkette and is ``targeting youth involvement'' in swing states, including Ohio. The question is, is Ohio ready for this? Founded by nine graduates of Columbia University, Harvard University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The premise is fairly straightforward. Votergasm seeks pledges from people to have sex on election night but only with another voter. ``When we look at the statistics there is a distinct trend that fewer young people voted in the last election, and even fewer people had sex that night,'' co-founder Michelle Collins told Katie Rooney of George Washington University's student newspaper, the GW Hatchet. The Wonkette has a warning for those who sign the pledge with high expectations: ``Remember,'' she writes, ``voting doesn't make someone more attractive, lots of liquor does!''

Ohioblog doubts that voting and sex can be combined as a turn-on for turn out. The only Election Day connection is that about half the voters in the country are going to feel they got screwed, which has nothing at all to do with sex.
