    Bushwacked in Crawford 

    In 2000 Vice President Al Gore lost the election, in part, because he couldn't even carry his home state of Tennessee. Friends and neighbors voted against him. Now, President Bush faces a similar situation. His hometown newspaper in Crawford, Texas, The Lone Star Iconoclast, ``wholeheartedly endorses John Kerry.'' The Iconoclast endorsed Bush four years ago but it has seen enough of what it calls the president's ``smoke screened agenda.''
