    Putting some hop into politics

When city council hearings began in North Canton investigating the performance of Mayor Tom Rice, resident Bill Smith showed up dressed as a kangaroo and a sign: STOP The Kangaroo Court.

Ohioblog knows its marsupials and as clever as Smith was in his support of the Rice and the belief that these hearings are most irregular, he was forced to remove his costume when the things got hot in the hearing room.

This would not happen if Northeast Ohio's most famous kangaroo showed up. Zippy, the University of Akron's mascot, can take the heat. She (Zippy has a mommy's pouch) also puts a different slant on kangaroo court as illustrated here.
