Lambert Field sounds right to us

In a campaign against a man so famous for his verbal blunders that there are books - Bushisms - filled with them, John Kerry is just trying to hold his own, and Ohio can help him.

Kerry has been taking well deserved abuse for a verbal gaffe made in Wisconsin last month. The Democratic presidential candidate referred to the Green Bay Packers' revered Curly Lambeau Field as ``Lambert Field.''

If Kent State University would immediately do what is right, Kerry would be able to claim he simply confused his two swing state football fields. Kent could give Kerry an out and honor arguably its most famous football alum, Jack Lambert, NFL Hall of Fame linebacker, by augmenting the name of its football facility to:

    Lambert Field at Dix Stadium.
